ALEK'S OFFICIAL BLOG

Hello everyone and welcome to my personal blog. My name is Alek and I play poker online and am a full time economics student soon to be graduate (God willing). I've learned how to play poker about seven years ago but only for the last two years has it been profitable for me. I wish that I had had an alternative way to learn how to poker profitably faster and more efficiently. I read many books and put in many hours on both sides of the table, both as a player and as a dealer.
My experiences as a dealer have taught me a lot about the game that is frequently concealed in plain sight from the players. The effects of rake/tips/misdeals/etc., were not lost on me and I realized that online poker offered a lot more potential for someone who was computer savvy and had a little math skill. Besides the discounts in the areas I mentioned there are also various tools and databases that you can simultaneously emlpoy while playing poker online, that you simply do not have access to in a casino. The additional advantages in terms of bigger fields, smaller buyins, and the lack of need for transportation to and from games made it all the more obvious to me that if I were to choose to play poker for a living it would definitely be online rather than live.
I still play live from time to time and it is a refreshing experience to see faces instead of pixels, get some physical reads and try to keep a solid poker face of your own. Hopefully as this blog grows I will be able to divulge some of the knowledge I've attained over my 7 years experience with the poker world on the various aspects of the game that ultimately are the resources a player uses to make money in the long run.
If you anyone ever has any questions addressing any specific issue that I may or may not have mentioned, do not hesitate to state your questions and I will do my best to answer them.
Until next time,
Alek
